Optional analytics

Google Analytics 4 remains disabled until you choose “Accept analytics” in our consent notice. If you decline, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded and no analytics event is sent by Keepsake Camp.

After consent, we measure page visits and a limited set of Gear interactions: searches (only whether a query exists and its length), result counts, filter changes, product views, comparison actions, and retailer-link clicks. We do not put the search text, postal codes, coordinates, complete retailer URLs, names, or email addresses in these custom events.

Google may process browser, device, network and approximate location information as part of providing Analytics. Google acts under its own terms and privacy policy.

Camping Near Me location search

When you choose to search by postal code, Keepsake Camp sends that postal code from our server to Google Geocoding to obtain an approximate location for the current search. The Google Maps Platform processes this request under Google's own terms and privacy policy.

Keepsake Camp does not intentionally write the postal code or returned coordinates to its campground catalogue, database, or analytics events. The information remains in the active page only while you use the search. Hosting and network providers may still process limited technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Purpose and retention

We use aggregate reports to understand which content and product-research tools are useful and to diagnose poor results. Our policy is to configure GA4 user-level and event-level retention to two months. Aggregate reports may be retained longer. The site does not use these Gear events to personalize advertising.

Your choice

You can accept or decline optional analytics before the tag loads. Your choice is stored only in your browser’s local storage under keepsakecamp-analytics-consent. Clear that site-storage entry to ask again. Browser privacy controls and blockers may also prevent Analytics.
